On the Road Again
While traveling through and exploring a hex party members are able make special use of thier skills. These special skill checks can done once per turn per hex and can only be performed by one member of the party. The Aid Another, Craft, and Profession skills can be done by any number of party members
Aid Another: You can help someone achieve success on a skill check by making the same kind of skill check in a cooperative effort. If you roll a 10 or higher on your check, the character you’re helping gets a +2 bonus on his or her check. (You can’t take 10 on a skill check to aid another.) In many cases, a character’s help won’t be beneficial, or only a limited number of characters can help at once. On a roll of natural 1 you do more harm than good and impart a -4 penalty on his or her check.
In cases where the skill restricts who can achieve certain results, such as trying to open a lock using Disable Device, you can’t aid another to grant a bonus to a task that your character couldn’t achieve alone. The GM might impose further restrictions to aiding another on a case-by-case basis as well.
Craft and Profession: The rules for using these skills during travel are yet to be determined.
Forage and Hunt: By succeeding a Survival check DC 10 you are able to get along in the wild without provisions. You move up to half your overland speed while hunting and foraging (no food or water supplies needed), this will affect travel speed and exploration times. You can provide food and water for one other person for every 2 points by which your check result exceeds 10.
Map Making: The party have been contracted to explore the stolen lands and pacify banditry there in. Every time the party successfully explore a hex one member of the party can make a Knowledge Geography check to increase the value and quality of their map. These map checks are cumulative. At the end of the party’s current charter a copy of the map will be sent to the Sword Lords and the party will be payed in gold pieces equal to the accumulated map checks.
Survive Extreme Weather: By succeeding a Survival check DC 15 you gain a +2 bonus on all Fortitude saves against severe weather while moving up to half your overland speed, or gain a +4 bonus if you remain stationary. You may grant the same bonus to one other character for every 1 point by which your Survival check result exceeds 15.
